Scale prototyping (Single Scale X1) (Hard materials)

The Scale prototyping service is currently only available with Royal Mail Age verified service due to the complexity of shipping and return insurance costs, the service will only be available with insurance cover for the first £150.00 due to limitations on the Royal Mail service.

Design and prototyping service for a single Show scale in hard materials,

Using this Scale prototyping service enables us to get hands on with a knife we do not currently own and allows us to replicate the Scales and if necessary any spacers, this can involve several attempts at cutting the Scales in a sacrificial material (normally Aluminium) to get the fit just right, Only then do we cut your Scales in your chosen material and apply the necessary refinements and finishing touches, After successful prototyping the scale sets will be added to the website for general purchase and will no longer be accepted on this service unless a major re-design is required.

Due to the cost of some of the knives we have recently been sent to prototype we have had to limit the return postage rates to RM age verified (Insured up to a maximum total value of £150.00) or DPD Delivery due to insurance costs and risk of loss/damage.

8 Size options to chose from as follows :-

• Small for a Show scale with a length up to 6 0mm and a thickness up to 3mm,
• Small for a Show scale with a length up to 6 0mm and a thickness up to 5mm ,
• Medium for a Show scale with a length of 6 0mm-100mmand a thickness up to 3mm ,
• Medium for a Show scale with a length of 6 0mm-100mm and a thickness up to 5mm,
• Large for a Show scale with a length of 100 mm-140mm and a thickness up to 3mm,
• Large for a Show scale with a length of 100 mm-140mm and a thickness up to 5mm ,
• Large for a Show scale with a length of above 140 mm and a thickness up to 3mm ,
• Large for a Show scale with a length of above 140 mm and a thickness up to 5mm ,

For hard materials including Copper, Brass, Titanium and Aluminium

Prices quoted are for a material stock thickness of up to 5mm, for scales with a thickness greater than this a surcharge may be applied and will be advised on inspection of the items supplied prior to any manufacture,

The edge profile can be selected between Flat grind, Round Over or 45 degree chamfer and is selectable from the options menu,

The Scale finish can be selected between the following options :-

MIll Finish (straight off the mill with edges de-burred blended using scotch bright)

Directional Brushed (Edges de-burred with face brushed from top to bottom)

Media Tumbled (Stonewashed)

Stage 1 Polish ( Edges de-burred and faces wet sanded to 200 grit then wheel polished to remove all visible blemishes)

Colour Anodised (available for Titanium only and colours on request)

Cerakote Ceramic Coating (Available in Armour Black, OD Green, NRA Blue, In Gloss, Satin or Matt, add choice to special instructions section)

We will not attempt a full mirror polish as this will undoubtable be damaged it transit or installation and is best achieved after the knife is assembled,

To use this service please describe the item the scales are for with the material and colour along with any other requirements using the special instructions area,

After completing the checkout process you will receive an order conformation/invoice by email, please send the item for evaluation and prototyping to the address on the invoice received quoting the order along with your details (a copy of the email will suffice).

On receipt of the item we will evaluated and we confirm the progress of the order via email .

If at this stage the item cannot be used or is damaged beyond repair it will be returned and any payments made will be refunded minus a small postage cost,

The order should take 14-28 working days to complete from date of receipt of the item to our works.
